Default conditional formulas

i would like to create a conditional formula to count how many times a name
in column B shows if there is a "Y" in column G. Can someone please please
please help me?

Hi

use the sumproduct funtion
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B1:B100="Bill"),--(G1:G100="Y"))
