Default check for highlite and text

If I have a cell that is highlited and has a text value, is there a function
or formula that I can to check for that instance?

Use the Edit|Find option... and pick the value and format in the dialog box...

I am using Excel 2007 but I think the same option was available in Excel
2003 also.

I'm sorry, I was not clear. I am trying to add cell in a range that have a
value of "X" and are highlited red.
