Default highlite in excel

Is it possible to select items ia an Excel spreadsheet and highlite them? I
am using Office 2000

Missey53, select your data and click on the arrow next to thepaint can on
the tool bar, pick a color, if you don't see the can go to format, cells,
patterens and click a color and OK. Is this what you want?
