Default CONVERTING NUMBERS TO TEXT

How can I convert numbers to text? I get how to convert text to numbers, but
can't seem to convert numbers to text.

Download and install the free add-in Morefunc.xll from:

....then use this formula

=NBTEXT(A1)

Default CONVERTING NUMBERS TO TEXT

We have a file with ID numbers that I believe may have a name attached to
each ID number that we can't see. I thought I could try and convert, but the
only option I get is to convert text to number-----but it's already a number.
Hope this clears it up. Thanks for your reply!

Default CONVERTING NUMBERS TO TEXT

Good question Peo!

None of the answers supplied wil do what you want, they all thought you
wanted to convert 12 to Twelve.

If you can't see it, at least in this case, it's not there! You need to go
back to the original source data. Or maybe there is a list somewhere of
whose name matches which ID, in which case you can use VLOOKUP to match a
number with the corresponding name - once you have a complete lookup table.

Shane,

That's exactly what I needed to know; whether it was possible to retrieve
without being the creator of the spreadsheet. I wish they would've hidden
the name behind the ID number, but it's good to know that it just ain't there.
