Default Once formula runs how to store result permenantly

I place a formula that calculates something for me in a cell, then I have a
cell on a different worksheet reference that formula cell. The problem is,
onc the calculation has run once, I want the reference cell to keep that
value and never change again, but each time the formula runs, it updates the
reference cell and I cannot stop it.
