In versions prior to Excel 2007:

Tools Options View Formulas (a checkbox to check).

In Excel 2007, I don't know where it is butof course it's possible.

In Excel 2007, I don't know where it is butof course it's possible.

Office buttonExcel OptionsAdvancedDisplay options for this worksheetShow
formulas....OK

Or, CTRL + ` will toggle on/off.
