VLOOKUP with date as an argument
I have a problem !
In one spreadsheet I have in I152 a formula "I151+1", which formatted as a date gives me "30 nov 07" as a result. In another spreadsheet I have an array where the same "30 nov 07" coming from a formula "Date(e6;11;30)" (where e6 = 2007), also formatted as a date. I want to VLOOKUP a result in the second spreadsheet, with the date from the first spreadsheet as argument. (It works without "FALSE" in the VLOOKUP-formula, but I want to make it work WITH this "FALSE". One never knows...) Can somebody help me ? Thanks in advance Gilbert |

VLOOKUP with date as an argument
I can't seem to duplicate your problem.......I have attemped to model
everything you have described, but it all seems to work for me in Excel97. As you know, VLOOKUP is very sensitive when you use the FALSE option, requiring that the values be exactly the same, and both either TEXT or NUMBERS. VLOOKUP with date as an argument
Gilbert
It seems to work for me as well, using Excel 2003. Have you tested to see if i152=the cell in the array on the other sheet? If that test gives true, then you must have a problem with your vlookup formula; otherwise, you need to play with the format of the two cells that appear to match to see why they are not really equal. Perhaps they look like they are the same, but, the format masks something. For example, if cell i151 is 39781.2, it can be formatted to look like 11/30/2007, but it won't match your Date() formula that appears the same. That would also be consistent with the vlookup formula working with the fourth argument not equal to False. Good luck.
