Protect cell range
By default, all cells in a worksheet are locked if the sheet is protected.
If you want certain cells to be editable, select these cells and unclock them (Format Cells Protection tab and uncheck Locked) Tools Protection Protect Sheet will then protect the rest of the sheet from change. -- Ian -- "Sanjiv" wrote in message ... Protect cell range
Hi Sanjiv,
If you are using XL2003.. 1. select all cells on your worksheet by clicking the grey box top left corner of your sheet (jsut above Row 1 and to the left of Column A) 2. Right click and selet Format Cells from the menu 3. Select the Protection Tab and uncheck the Locked box and click ok 4. Select the Range that you want to protect 5. Right click again, Select Protection and Locked box. Click ok. (this will lock the range) 6. Select Tools from the menu bar and Protection, Protect Sheet. Uncheck the Select Locked Cells box. 7. Enter a Password, Click Ok. 8. Enter the Password again, Click ok. And that's it. Hope this helps. Regards, Gav. "Sanjiv" wrote: How can I protect range of cells in a worksheet - Thanks |
