I am creating a pivot table for a department in the healthcare clinic that I
work for. They want to run a report that shows by year of the number of people that have gotten labs done in another facility. The Start Date column is formatted as mm/dd/yy. Is there away that I can group the dates together by year? All I am able to do is show each individual date. Thanks for your help. Sue |

If there are any blank cells in the date column, you won't be able to
group the dates in the pivot table. http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot07.html Or, if the dates are being treated as text, you won't be able to group them. If so, you can change the dates back to numbers, as described he http://www.contextures.com/xlDataEntry03.html Sue wrote: When I follow your steps, Excel says that I "Can not group that selection".
