Hello,
In my workbook excel 2003, i have my spreadsheets with formulas in cells along the last column and the last row and specifically on IV65536... these are part of circular formulation - catching errors and sums and cross-check by color coded conditional formats.... Now, can i open my file in 2007 and can expect that these perimeter formulas will be also located in the 2007 sheet perimeters...? Are there new *tick* options in 2007 to suit this simple need from users like me. regards, driller -- ***** birds of the same feather flock together.. Any link you can suggest where this topic is more explained, especially in modifying my formulas, if needed, to suit the UpDate... |

Hi
When moving to XL2007, the formulae will be in the same positions. In fact, if you open the file created in XL2003, it will open in compatibility mode, and will only have the dimensions of 256 columns by 65536 rows. You would need to save it as an xlsx file and re-open, if you wanted to used the additional columns and rows. As an aside, using these locations for checking formulae, is making your sheets inordinately large, as the used range will become A1:IV65536. When designing sheets for myself and clients, I usually start at F11, hiding the first 10 rows and 5 columns. Any check formulae, I would place within this area. This makes the sheet larger in used range, but not to the extent that your method does. -- Regards Roger Govier "driller" wrote in message ...
