Default automatic and manual calculation not working

I have an excel file with several worksheets. The worksheets link to
each other. In tools, I have automatic calculation checked. Thus,
whenever I make a change to one worksheet it carries forward to the
other worksheets. I have many files like this and all work fine.

However in this one particular file it has stopped working. When I
make a change to one of the worksheets it does not flow through to the
other worksheets. Ive never had this problem before. Even when I
press F9, it still doesnt update the other pages.

The only way to update is to go to each individual cell, press F2 then
F9. Obviously this is time consuming and risks missing certain cells.

Do you know why my worksheet is not automatically calculating? Do you
know why when I press F9, it still does not update the links?
