Default conditional formating #N/A

Is is possible to conditionally format a cell when using vlookup and the
returned value is #N/A.

Use a formula of

=ISNA(A2)

assuming A2 is the first cell selected.

Default conditional formating #N/A

Apply this formula in the conditional format: =ISERROR() Also: =ISNA()

Alternatively you could trap (eliminate) the #N/A error by adopting the
following form: =IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP([your criteria]),"",VLOOKUP([your
criteria]))
