Default allow users to edit ranges

Hello,
I have a workbook/worksheet(?) which I need to share and allow multiple
users to edit specific ranges only. I have attempted to follow the process as
outlined in "TOOLSPROTECTIONALLOW USERS TO EDIT RANGES" but it does not
seem to work for me. All of my machines are on the same domain and all are
running windows XP. I am able to share the workbook with no problem. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am not an excel wizard so please
type slowly.
