Hi friends ......!!!!!
i have a problem...suppose i have the following serial numbers in a row
or u can say any text ass suppose....

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
now suppose if i delete 3 and 6 then 3 and 6 will be deleted but all
the other numbers will not be sorted automatically and the numbers or
rows (3 and 6) will be blank...as given below

2
blank line
4
5
blank line
7
8
but i want taht when i delte 3 and 4 numbers or the whole row then thee
blanks shouldnt be there..as 4 and 7 should be move up and sorted
automatically as
1
2
3
4
5
6 as 4 and 7 moves up in the place of 3 and 6 and sorted
automatically..as before deleting there were 8 numbers but after
deleteing there are 6 numbers so they are sorted automatically and
there is no blank line between themmmmmmm

any help will be highly appreciated.......thanks in advance.

If your data is in column B and you want to give serial numbers in
column A then put following formula in A1 if your data starts in B1

=IF(A1<"",COUNTA($A$1:A1),"") and copy this formula down in column A.
now if you delete the data in column B serial numbers in col A will
automatically be adjusted.

hope this serves your purpose.
