Hi everyone,
I was hoping to get some help creating a Buy/Sell trigger based on stock portfolio percentages. I'm not sure if VBA code will be required or if my request is simple enough to do with Excel formulas but let me explain what I'd like to achieve and hopefully you can point me in the right direction. Let's assume that you have a stock portfolio made up of the following percentages: 25% Oil Stock 15% Alternative Energy Stock 10% Tech Stock 15% Pharmaceutical Stock 25% Housing Stock 10% Emerging Markets Stock What I'd like to do is import and monitor the daily closing prices and set up buy/sell triggers based on the portfolio percentages (these triggers don't have to link to my investing account, its solely to track percentages and monitor my portfolio). For example- Oil price goes up so my portfolio percentage increases from 25% to 28%. I'd like to create a formula or VBA that would create a trigger and sell 3% of the stock to get me back to 25%. Alternatively when Tech dropped by 3% I'd like to create a trigger to buy an additional 3% . I'd appreciate it if someone could give me some pointers on to how best set-up a spreadsheet formula which would allow me to do this. Thank you so much for your help, Matt |
