I have a excel template to be filled out by an end user, which will most likely be populated by pasting large amounts of columnar data. Certain columns are mandatory, and so am trying to write a macro that will read each row and validate such specific columns IfEmpty and display a message to the user.

This sounds like data validation from the data menu would work
