Default Excel VBA reference docs?

I'm looking for an Excel VBA reference document. I'm running Office'02
(XP) on a WinXP laptop. I purchased the laptop used and the help wasn't
installed, and I don't have the CDs. I downloaded vbaxl11.exe from MS,
but there are issues. Even though it installed in \Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\1033\ as vbaxl10.chm, it didn't "connect" with Excel.
Thus, when I'm in the Object Browser, I can't just select an object and
hit ?. Instead, I have to load the Help file separately and search for
the object's name. Even though it gives a script error, it produces the
object's help page. It's a little frustrating, but I can live with it
unless anyone has any suggestions.

However, the vbaxl help doesn't include the VBA statements themselves,
as it doesn't have anything on, say, redim. Is there a good VBA
language reference file available at an engineer's price (free) w/o
buying a book?
