WHY EDIT-FILL-"SERIES" OPTION cannot be seen in one particular sh
Excel 97: In one of the workbook, in the -edit-fill- the 'series' option is
not highlighted but in rest of the workbooks the 'series' option is highlighted. Unfortunately, that sheet has lots of places where I have to use serial numbers and without that option -series- I am unable to fill the numbers --like if the last number is 300, i am unable to go to a299 and mark till a300 and drag the plus sign to fill till 400. Trust me, posted this many times and never get assistance. Pls tell me what could be the reason for not having this option in just one workbook. For your information the sheet is not protected. Can anyone suggest how to activate it using VB as even after resetting the tool bars still I dont get to see the -series- option highlighted. |

Don't really know the answer to your question but try the following and see
if it works. (I'm really only clutching at straws and not even sure that you can do it in Excel 97). Click on first sheet name tab (the one furthermost to the left) to select the sheet. Hold the Shift key down and click on the last sheet name (the one furthermost to the right). This should select all sheets. Right click on any of the sheet names and then select Move or Copy. In the To Book: field, click the drop down arrow and select (New Book) Check the box Create Copy. Click OK. The new workbook will be the active workbook. Save the New Workbook to a new name and see whether it now works. -- Regards, OssieMac "CAPTGNVR" wrote: Excel 97: In one of the workbook, in the -edit-fill- the 'series' option is not highlighted but in rest of the workbooks the 'series' option is highlighted. WHY EDIT-FILL-"SERIES" OPTION cannot be seen in one particula
D/OssieMac
Thnks for the first guidance I got in this regard. Sorry, it did not work. I copied and renamed it and when I opened it and entered numbers in two cells and dragged the plus handle it did not work. The result is all cells filled with '1' instead of the serial number. Also checked on edit-fill and the 'series' option was not highlighted Pls sugest. Still only clutching at straws. Ensure that the workbook is saved as Excel 97
workbook and not an earlier version like Excel 5. Try 'Save As' and in the dialog box for the type of file to 'Save As', ensure that it is Excel 97. I am fresh out of any other ideas. -- Regards, OssieMac "CAPTGNVR" wrote: D/OssieMac Thnks for the first guidance I got in this regard. Sorry, it did not work.
