There are about 5000 names in a column. many names repeating in this column.
I want to know how many diferent names repeating in this column.

Example Mr. John Brown 23 times
Mrs. Madonna 12 times
Mrs Nicole Kidman 1 times

Default excel report

Select the data (including any headers
Follow menu path DataPivottable
Select "Excel list or database"
Data range should be pre selected
Select options for where to put the pivottable
Choose "Layout"
Drag "Name" into the ROW area
Drag "Name" into the DATA area - this should automatically conver to "COUNT
of Name"
Finish

You should now have a pivottable with each name on your list and how many
times it appears
