Default Menu bar reset error

Excel won't close when I have the line
Application.CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Reset
in the Workbook_Deactivate() subroutine. I can't find anything in the
search engines except for the "excel won't quit" page on Tushar Mehta's
website. I put in an xlapp as excel.application in for "application", but
ended up with a bunch of other errors and Excel still wouldn't close. We had
another spreadsheet that has run forever with the same line without that
issue and when we encountered the problem in a spreadsheet under development
the other spreadsheet caught the cold.

As an additional note we're experiencing a Run-Time Error '1004' Method of
object global failed in other areas of the code on one machine, but not the
other. I'm looking at article 178510 to solve that problem. I'm still
experiencing the menu errors without running the other codes - if I just open
and close with the above line active I have the problems.
