try opening excel in safe mode and then opening your file.
either hold the shift key down immediately after clicking on your excel file or create a shortcut to excel.exe and then add a /s to the end of the command line that launches excel and then see if your workbook will open. for example, the default location for office 2003: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE" /s -- Gary "CAPTGNVR" wrote in message oups.com... If you just tried Safe mode, then try:
Hold down the shift key while you open the file. Keep holding it until the file is open. If this is a file you altered with a Hex editor, you may have screwed it up. Go back and use the copy you made of it before using the Hex editor. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "CAPTGNVR" wrote in message ups.com... If it's only that one file...
Sometimes opening and saving in a different version of excel can help (sometimes not). If it is a corrupted workbook, you may want to try openoffice. Lots of people have said that it's recovered workbooks that excel couldn't. (http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-65 meg download or a CD) If the file is really important, there are commercial recovery services. I've never used it, but you might want to check into: http://www.officerecovery.com CAPTGNVR wrote: DEAR ALL I did all the complete program and it was running fine till today. As Dave Peterson suggests, you might try the Open Office application. It
might work for your file with the forgotten vba password as well. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "CAPTGNVR" wrote in message ups.com... This ship luckily i got gprs going from the cell and could get my doubts and problems cleared in a jiffy. I will try thro the openoffice but in the mean time I reworked from half saved file during the building of the file and I am almost done. Once again thanks a lot. |
