I wish to do the following:

a. The excel file can only be opened with a username and password.
b. Based on the username and pasword, the file can either be opened
with certain with all columns opened or certain columns hidden. Tq in

If this is at all important, Excel just isn't the application to provide this
type of security. If you wish to allow a user to open the file, plan on them
having access to all information in that file. If you want access such as
you describe, use a centralized database that provides security at the
individual record level.
