Default copy matrix (diagonal)

Dear all,
Does anyone know how to copy a diagonal matrix into one column.
Example:

1 2 3 5
5 3 4 7
7 8 9 4
4 10 8 11

into

1
3
9
11

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mu

Hi,

supposing, your matrix is in cells a1:d4, you can insert formula into
e1:

=OFFSET($A$1,ROW()-1,ROW()-1)

and copy down to d4.

Regards,
Ivan
