How to stop Excel from truncating text to 255 characters?
I have a problem in using Excel to generate reports using text cells.
It accepts text longer than 255 characters but when I copy it or try to report it in a pivot table the text is always truncated. Can this be fixed? I am using Office 2003 (11.6355.6408) SP1 Also I find that even when the Select button is pushed in, my pivot tables keep losing their formatting. Help! |

No.
Maybe you could use some kind of key value and then use =vlookup() to return that longer string based on the key. (Might not be useful if you actually pivot your table!) katep wrote: I have a problem in using Excel to generate reports using text cells.
