Default double image buttons

I have an Excel spreadsheet that has a button on it. The button shows
up with a "shadow" behind it. It looks like two buttons, with one
behind the other.

I tried to delete it, but it won't go away. If I try to move one of
them, I get a third copy of the button elsewhere on the page, while the
two original "shadowed" buttons remain.

Probably easier if I could show a picture on here. But has anyone else
ever experienced this? Anyone know how I can get rid of the secondary
image?

Thanks.
