Architectural guidance, please
Hi! I need to create a dataset-bound spreadsheet in C# or VSTO 2003 in such a
way that rearranging rows (inserting empty rows, moving rows around etc) and moving individual cells around does not impact the values. The spreadsheet must be able to persist itself back to a dataset which I am going to save to a database by making a post to a Java based web service. What would be the architecture to solve the aforementioned problem? Should I use smart tags or XML maps Ive been reading about? Any info/idea/link is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, |

Hi Mike,

It might be better to ask your question in the Public.vsnet.vstools.office newsgroup, which is more relevant to your problem. The answer might be to wait until VSTO 2005, though, which makes this quite easy. See Eric Carters blog for a simple example: http://blogs.msdn.com/eric_carter/ar...22/233200.aspx Regards Stephen Bullen Microsoft MVP - Excel Professional Excel Development The most advanced Excel VBA book available www.oaltd.co.uk/ProExcelDev |
