I really only know the basics about macros and can use it to retreive data

in
a spreadsheet to consolidate it, however, I am now wanting to expand my
knowledge a bit further and would like to learn about using macros to

import
data from external applications but don't know where to start?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

The answer depends on how the data can be made available to Excel. Do these
applications have a name? Is it SAP, Hyperion, Baan? Do they offer some kind
of programmatic interface. Maube they only produce data as a text file.
Please tell more about the applications that provide the data.

/Fredrik
