Default Help understanding default formatting differences in excel 2000 a.

I've spent quite some time trying to format the ticket results for an online
help-desk ticket system. I can export the ticket info to an excell readable
format, but some of the collumns have the text with HTML formatting. I was
about to try using text monkey to get rid of the formatting, but then i
opened up the file on a computer running an older version of excel (2000) and
the format was perfect. Does anyone know how to adjust the settings on excel
2003 so i get the standard formatting that i had on excel 2000?
i'm all ears
