Default Differences between Excel '97 and 2000

I'm trying to convert an Excel 2000 sheet into one that will work in
Excel '97, but some of the code is not porting very easily.

Is there a good log anywhere of changes made to Excel VBA between these
versions and/or common bugs?

One thing that I can't work out is that the Worksheet_Activate event is
not firing in Excel '97 but is in 2000. Were any changes made in this
respect? The impression I am getting is that Excel '97 is less stable
than 2000 - I keep getting the "Excel.exe has generated errors..."
message (or is this just me doing things wrong?)
