Default Links from Word no longer updating

Hi,

I am using both Word and Excel 2003. I have a TOC in Word which i have pasted as a link into an Excel sheet. Whenever the Word TOC was updated, this automatically updated the Excel sheet. I would then run custom code to interogate this information.

However, I have since moved all documents into a Sharepoint Doc Lib and re-linked the TOC to Excel. These links now reference the HTTP path of the document. However, the Excel sheet is no longer updated when the TOC is updated. I have to close and re-open Excel to get the update data prompt.

Is there any reason why this would stop working and is there a way to refresh the data either through a menu item or preferably through the VBA code? I have tried the Refresh All button on the External Data menu, but this doesn't appear to do anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Martyn...
