Default MS Excel "path" and XP/NTFS folder naming

I am having a problem getting consistent results from the:

"Application.Path", Activeworkbook.Fullname and Activeworkbook.Path
commands.

Sometimes I get the full path text as in
"C:\Documents and Settings\weavtennis\My Documents\PM Sheets\"

but at others all I get is MS DOS/WinNT shortened path of
"C:\Docume~1\ weavte~1\MyDocu~1\PMShee~1\".

Is there a way to consistently get the full path text version?

System = MS Office '97 version of Excel on a WinXP/NTFS drive

Or

System = MS Office 2K version of Excel on a Win2K/NTFS drive

Thanks
