Default lost objects in Excel

I have had numerous incidents of Excel "forgeting" what kind of object is
embedded in a spreadsheet. For example I have placed some Command Buttons
on a spreadsheet and for no known reason they forget they are command
buttons and revert to a picture object. I have also placed Word objects in
a spreadsheet and have the same thing happen. They just revert to picture
objects.
The only way I have found to fix it, is to delete the object and re-insert
it into the spreadsheet again.

Anyone else run into this. Any ideas?

Dennis

Not heard of that before.
What do you see in the formula bar if you select the object after it has
been "forgotten"?
What is the setting in Tools / Options / View / Objects?

I don't know Bill, I have not taken notice of that information. It happens
fairly frequently, but I cannot reproduce it at will, so I will have to wait
until it happens again and make note of that information.

Thanks
Dennis
