Hi,
I am new to this group as well as MS Query. I have successfully created a query and retrived the data in Excel. Now I want to change the source file of the query. Is it possible? This is required as I am getting a new data file every day which contains the reports. Please help. Thanks in Advance, Shetty. |

Hi,
You might try my flexfind.zip from www.bmsltd.co.uk/mvp - Launch it, make sure you check the "objects" box. - Now enter a search string, e.g. (part of) the filename you used last time. - if it finds your querytable's connection string, check out if it contains your filename. - Make sure you now use the entire string you want replaced as the search string. - enter the replacing name and highlight the querytable's entry in the bottom listbox and choose replace. Hi Jan,
I have tried to use Flexfind utility. But the utility does not search all the sheets. Also while replacing the text string, it makes some other changes also due to which the whole quary becomes unusable and gives error (Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object). The utility is quite simple. Am I doing some thing wrong? Moreover I have to change the referance in all the sheets of MS Quarry which will almost take more then two hrs. Is there a way around to replace referance in all the sheets? Regards, Shetty "Jan Karel Pieterse" wrote in message ...
