I have a moderately large workbook used for stock analysis. It gets data
using web connect. Normally, it just gets a current quote by getting a web page and parsing it for the last price. This all works fine. The problem is in Excel 2000 the entire process takes 10 seconds (Win2K-SP3 or SP4). However, using Excel XP (on either Win2K or WinXP) it takes 45 seconds to 2.5 minutes. The statusbar messages indicate it's stalling on the web connect portion. Any ideas. Are there changes or new settings in ExcelXP that could cause this? Terry |
