If you increase the security rating, then open the
workbook with macros disabled, does it open / close faster? I was thinking that you may have to auto_open auto_close code that might be looping Patrick Molloy Microsoft Excel MVP -----Original Message----- If anyone can help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated. I created a workbooks that is used to present a series of user input forms built onto separate sheets that are used to calculate a score based on the data input. Nothing to complex, just some buttons and check boxes and quite a few custom formulas. I also added a simple menu and tool bar for sheet navigation. All was going fine until the workbook developed a "bug". It takes up to 15min to load and save (its only 800kb). Once open it seems to work OK. The problem is file and computer dependent. Similar files work normally on the "infected" computer and the "infected" file works normally on other computers. I have stripped out the code and various sheets but it only gives a small improvement. As far as I can tell the problem occurs before any code or recalculation occurs Any suggests on what may be wrong and how I can fix it? *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just participate in USENET...get rewarded for it! . |

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that. I also set
it to manual recalculation to see if custom formulas were taking a long time. I stripped code and formulas out I repaired office then uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I removed all temporary files and ran a virus check. I defraged my drive. I stopped short of throwing it out of the window but I still have the bug and it is machine and file dependent. I have gone from being frustrated to just curious. I don't want this one to jump out again when the time pressure is on. -----Original Message----- If you increase the security rating, then open the workbook with macros disabled, does it open / close faster?
