Default Strange Happenings

Hi All,
I want to enter into an empty cell 'MD',
Just that, no quotes, it stands for 'Managing Director'
The result I get is 1.23457E+17
If I format as text or precede 'MD' with an apossrophe I get 12345669885562
Any ideas any one,
TIA,
Alan.

I do realise that, but I know I've never made an alteration to Auto Correct
that would give the result I desrcibed. I do a lot of e-mailing to and from
from work, maybe someone else did it and it migrated to my home set up?
Regards,
Alan.

This must be a Named Constant or Named Range on your computer. That would
explain the value association. The name MD could be assoicated with a cell
with a large value in it.

If it is I don't know how it got there. I've used loads of named ranges in
XL sheets in the past but they all have refered to actual ranges like
A45:GH250,
Strange, but solved!
Regards,
Alan.
