Default Changing column widths in excel

Becky, column width is for the whole column, you could under format cells,
alignment, check merge cells, or under text alignment, horizontal, select
center across selection. I try NOT to use the merge cells because this can
be a problem when you want to sort and other things.

I need to change the column width on the bottom of my worksheet without
affecting the top. Is there a way to do this?
