how do you change telephone numbers ie. (555) 123-1234 to 5551231234

Edit|replace a few times...

select your range
edit|replace
what: (
with: (leave blank)
replace all

edit|replace
what: )
with: (leave blank)
replace all

edit|replace
what: (spacebar)
with: (leave blank)
replace all

Then format the cell the way you like:
custom: 0000000000
or special???

Only if those numbers were given that special formatting to begin with.

You are right Dave, I am assuming that this is problem, otherwise I would
follow your suggestion.
