I recently upgraded to Office 2003 & I noticed something missing in the
formula bar that was not missing when I used Office 2000. What is missing is the = sign next to the Formula Bar box that is right underneath the tool bar. The problem is that when I enter for example 2+3 in the formula bar in Excel 2000 and hit the enter key, I would not get a total of 5 in the cell because I forgot to enter the = sign in front of 2+3. What I would do then is to place my cursor on the cell and click on the = next to the formula bar without having to click on the cell where I entered the 2+3 and enter the = in front of it. Does anyone know what I need to do to have the = sign next to the Formula Bar? |

The = icon disappeared in xl2002.
You can add an = icon Tools|customize|commands tab|Insert category (Scroll down the list until you find the = icon) And drag it to your favorite toolbar (nicely positioned). It's not quite the same, but maybe it'll be sufficient for you.
