Excel 2003 Formula Bar

I recently upgraded to Office 2003 & I noticed something missing in the
formula bar that was not missing when I used Office 2000.

What is missing is the €œ=€ sign next to the €œFormula Bar€ box that is right
underneath the tool bar. The problem is that when I enter for example €œ2+3€
in the formula bar in Excel 2000 and hit the enter key, I would not get a
total of 5 in the cell because I forgot to enter the €œ=€ sign in front of
€œ2+3€. What I would do then is to place my cursor on the cell and click on
the €œ=€ next to the formula bar without having to click on the cell where I
entered the €œ2+3€ and enter the €œ=€ in front of it.

Does anyone know what I need to do to have the €œ=€ sign next to the €œFormula
Bar€?

Excel 2003 Formula Bar

The = icon disappeared in xl2002.

You can add an = icon
Tools|customize|commands tab|Insert category
(Scroll down the list until you find the = icon)

And drag it to your favorite toolbar (nicely positioned).

It's not quite the same, but maybe it'll be sufficient for you.
