how can i input numbers "00147"? i always get 147
please guide me.

If you alwasy want 5 digits with enough leading zeros, then pull-down:

Format Cells... Number Custom

and enter 00000 in place of General

Emman,

Try to go to menu Format - chose cells. On tab number, chose category
text.
Input your 00147, and it will stay in that format.

put an apostrophe ' in front of the number is another way of doing it
