Default Excel does not open MS Query

Running Excel 97 under Win 2000 and Excel 2000 under Win XP neither will
open MS Query when I key "Edit query", though both applications will
"Refresh data" in Queries written some time ago or on other PCs that
have not had Excel or MS Office updated.

The link/macro seems to have been disrupted when installing updates to
MS Office off the MS web site.

Is this perhaps a registry problem or something within Excel?

Regards

Richard E
