Default how do you find a cell equal to a cell from another list

I have 2 lists & I would like to be to identify data that is in both lists so
that I can delete non relevant data & then combine the data from the 2 lists
into one list

Thank you very much, I have been trying to work out how to do that for years,
although I have not yet got the formula to work I'm sure I will
