Default my excel work book is NOT read onlyt says it is when saving to CD

I can not save my work book. I have unchecked all the read only boxes but
when trying to save to disc it still says read only.. Please help

Try Tools Options Security and see if Read Only Recommended is checked.

What type of 'disc' are you trying to save to? If a CD the message pertains
to not being able to save changes directly to the CD & has nothing to do with
Excel. Save to your hard drive, then burn a copy to CD if neessary.

Also, if the file was copied to your hard drive from a CD, the file's
Property for Attributes may be set to Read Only. Again, this has nothing to
do with Excel and will not show up in ToolsOptionsSecurity. You will need
to Save As 'whatever' to your hard drive & in the future when you copy a file
from CD or other sources, right-click the copy's icon, choose Properties &
remove the Attributes check for Read Only.
