Default Questions about MS Word

I did not find a MS Word newsgroup, so I hope you dont mind that I am
asking the questions here.

There are some default options I would like to change, but I am not
sure how to do it.

1. The default Font type and Size. I would like everytime I opened a
New document for the default font to be Ariel and the Size to be 10,
how do I do this?

2. Also the Properties (file-properties) the Title and Author always
gets filled in. How do I make it so that it stays blank unless I fill
it in?

3. Also in the Properties...where does it get the Author info from?
Currently its my full name, but I would like to change that. Is it a
Windows default? Where is that infomation kept?

4. Default page size. How do I setup the Margins, so that it will
always be .75 by default?

Thanks

open a document, choose format / font - choose the type & size that you want
and then click the DEFAULT button - you will receive a message - say YES to
it and then every new document you open will have the type & size you
specified (the reason is that all blank documents, by default, are based on
the normal template - clicking the default button in any dialog box in word
makes the specified changes to the normal template). BTW if, when you close
the document or word, you get asked about saving changes to the global
template - this is also taking about saving changes to normal - so say YES.

2. Also the Properties (file-properties) the Title and Author always
gets filled in. How do I make it so that it stays blank unless I fill

the author is set from tools / options / user information and the NAME
field - however, leaving this field blank doesn't really work, so instead
click in the name box and type a space - this will then leave the author
field "blank" until you type into it.

3. Also in the Properties...where does it get the Author info from?
Currently its my full name, but I would like to change that. Is it a

see above

4. Default page size. How do I setup the Margins, so that it will
always be .75 by default?

file / page setup ... again press the DEFAULT button to save the changes to
normal.

Thanks

Hi John

you don't know how grateful i am to you posting this link, i've been trying
ever since they brought the new interface in to figure out how to get a
listing of groups for a program ... okay, maybe i haven't tried hard
enough - but i miss the old way of doing things (still)

I noticed that COMPANY is also filled in.
But that option is not under User Info (tools-options) where is this
coming from?
But also, the TITLE, it always gets the first line of the document (If
I dont change it) how can I stop this from happening?

Thanks!
