I am trying to type a school timetable in Excel and need to write 5/6, but it
automatically changes to a date format when I type in the cell. How do I turn off this function? |

many ways are possible
- typing '5/6 as suggested: this means 5/6 is a text (not a date) this may be enought, but means you need to type a ' and you will not be abble to manipulate it as a date (maybe not needed) - formating the cells in a date-format (maybe without year): then the format will stay the choosen one - formating the cells as a text format (this is like the first item, without any need of typing a ' before anything) |
