If a cell is formatted in a particular way then you should be able to
change it to suit your needs or application. Or did you mean to say
that the entry in the cell is "2005-05-14 22:23:01.0" instead of a
serial date number?

The answer will determine how you resolve the problem. To find out,
click on any date cell and attempt to change its format to a number
with no decimals or commas. If you get a 5 digit number then you can
format this value- in Excel parlance this is called a serial date
number- to show whatever you like.

If the cell still shows 2005-05-14 22:23:01.0 then the solution is a
touch more difficult but not unworkable.

Let us know!
