I know this is not a specific "excel" related question but I figure
this is the forum where such calculations are carried out (ie in Excel spreadsheets). I have a client survey that has say 5 questions. I list each question in a spreadsheet. Each question is answered by the client by selecting either 1 (totally disagree), 2, 3 (neither agree or disagree), 4, or 5 (totally agree). Each of the 5 questions also has a weighting of importance eg Q1=10 (very important), Q2=8, Q3=6, Q4=6 and Q5=4(not so important). What do I do to come up with a total figure that will give me a result that I can say shows that the client is either satisfied with our work or notcan be compared to other client's survey replies. Do I multiply each of the client's selctions (ie 1 to 5) by the weighting or do I divide and then do I add all the factored numbers and divide by the total of the weighting. I am not sure how to convert the client's selctions to a sensible answer when taking into account the weightings of each question. I hope someone here can help or put me on to a Newsgroup that can. regards PeterH |
