Default How do i prevent a formula in excel from being deleted?

I have created a simple sheet with formulas. I want to protect the formulas
so that if a figure is entered, then deleted, the formular still stays there.
I have tried to use the help menu, but doing the suggested protections makes
it so the figure cant even be entered into the cell! Thank-you for your help!

you need to have an input cell(s) seperate from your formula so instead of
4*2 typed in a cell have 4*A2.Then you cam lock your formula but leave your
input cel unlocked...protect the sheet and your formula will be safe.....

Thanks paul... but i have no idea what you mean!! The formulas I have are
autosum formulas and one "IF" formula. (ie =SUM(E12:H12) and
=IF((SUM(D6:D27))=(SUM(E28:H28)),SUM(D6:D27),"INCO RRECT!!")) So what i want
to do is make it so figures can be entered in these cells, but if a person
decides to delete the figure they entered, the formula doesn't get deleted
too. Hope this makes sense and you can help me!!

Thank-you

Sarah
