You can of course set up OE so that your delete folder is emptied

Didn't know about that, it works and does not put anything into the recycle bin.
After testing, I put it back so it won't delete automatically. It did not throw
anything into the recycle bin either. I thought I'd seen deleted email messages
in a friend's recycle bin and she had OE, guess they were something else.

The option won't clear out Hotmail delete folder as that would require
interaction on the Hotmail server.
